FAQ

1. If you received the Selective Scholarship Application, do not complete the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program Alternative Application.
2. All application materials must be submitted online through the application. We do not accept paper applications or other required documents.
3. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all application materials have been submitted. You can check your application through your One.IU account.
4. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, and you will not be notified.
5. HHSP will only make award notifications to those students who receive the scholarship.

1. If you apply to IU before the November 1 early action (non-binding) deadline and are admitted, you may be invited to complete the Selective Scholarship Application (SSA). The SSA allows eligible students to be considered for departmental/school scholarships. If you are selected, you will receive an email invitation with instructions on how to complete the SSA and the deadline.
2. Students who apply for IU admission after the November 1 deadline or who do not receive an SSA from HHSP, may apply via One.IU.
   1. Step 1: Log in to One.IU using your computing account. Enter the keyword “scholarships” in the search bar.
   2. Step 2: Click on the “Scholarships” , a dollar sign ($) with a graduation cap.
   3. Step 3: Click “Sign In With Your Network ID.” You may be prompted to sign in using your IU credentials.
   4. Step 4: Complete all questions on the General Application, then click “Finish and Submit.” You must complete this step before completing the HHSP application.

No this does not make you an in-state student. As a non-Indiana resident, scholars will receive funding equal to in-state cost of tuition for up to four years.

1. If you are accepted into the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program, you will receive an award notification via email. The email will include a link to the Agreement Form. You and your parent(s) must complete this form by May 1 to let us know if you want to be a Hudson & Holland Scholar.
2. Hudson & Holland makes several rounds of scholarship offers from December through April.

1. At IU Bloomington, mandatory fees include items such as student activity and technology fees. There may be other fees associated with your major that will not be covered by the Hudson and Holland Scholars program.

1. Depending on the timing of your Hudson & Holland award and the timing of other awards, you may see changes in your financial aid funding. However, the Hudson & Holland Scholars Program guarantees that in-state tuition and mandatory fees will be covered (or equal to the amount of in-state tuition and mandatory fees, for non-resident students). The amount of the award may vary for each student as new awards are taken into account.

There are many factors that can impact the finalization of financial aid such as late awards, verification, etc. However, as a Hudson & Holland scholar, you are guaranteed to receive scholarships and/or grants to pay for your tuition and mandatory fees as a resident and an equal dollar amount for non-residents.

1. No. The award can only be used during fall and spring semesters.

1. No. Only IU, federal, and state gift aid affects the amount of the Hudson & Holland guarantee for those scholars who entered IUB before Fall 2024.
