About Our Program
The Hudson & Holland Scholars Program is currently housed under the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Undergraduate Education’s mission is to ensure every undergraduate student can access meaningful learning opportunities that prepare them for tomorrow.
Hudson & Holland Scholars Program’s mission, vision and core values support UE’s mission while reflecting the program’s efforts to serve the best and brightest students on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.
The mission of HHSP is to enhance inclusive excellence at Indiana University through the recruitment, support, and holistic development of high-achieving students from underrepresented groups, including but not limited to: limited income students, first-generation college students, and rural students and other underrepresented student populations.
HHSP seeks to achieve this mission by supporting scholars’ social, emotional, and mental well-being. Through a variety of support services backed by student development theory and best practices in higher education, HHSP ultimately seeks to address the holistic needs of scholars throughout their tenure at IUB.
On average, Hudson & Holland Scholars have higher GPAs, retention rates and 4-year graduation rates than their non-HHSP peers and are often some of the most scholastically successful students at IUB.
Hudson & Holland is currently the largest merit-based scholarship program at Indiana University Bloomington. Hudson & Holland Scholars’ presence and contributions deeply enrich the campus learning environment.
Our vision is to facilitate an environment and atmosphere where our Scholars SUCCEED unapologetically and thrive to graduation.
Our motto, Hudson & Holland SUCCEEDs is reflected in the following values:
