Exemptions
Depending on the circumstances, it is not always feasible for some Scholars to complete the L.E.A.D. requirements. Exemptions from the L.E.A.D. requirements are granted on a case-by-case basis. Exemptions are granted for Scholars who are away from the Bloomington campus for either a semester or full academic year due to participation in an internship, study abroad travel or because they have taken a full withdrawal from classes. Other situations may apply, check with your advisor.
Scholars requesting an exemption from their L.E.A.D. requirements for the semester or full academic year must do the following:
Step 1: Inform your HHSP advisor of your reason for needing an exemption from the L.E.A.D. requirements.
Step 2: In the beINvolved L.E.A.D. Path, indicate that you are exempt from the L.E.A.D. requirements by entering “exempt” for any LEAD activity required for that semester. If you do not indicate your exemption status in the beINvolved L.E.A.D. Path, then you risk being flagged as non-compliant during the L.E.A.D. requirements audits.
